The Blake House
Carefully curated to fuse colonial period charm with modern comforts, The Blake House stands as one of the oldest and most historic homes in Maryland. Built by British settler Charles Blake in 1691, this estate is nestled within 12 picturesque acres, featuring meticulously manicured gardens filled with both indigenous and foreign flora. Surrounded by serene water access to the Corsica River, the house offers a harmonious blend of old-world elegance and contemporary luxuries. Despite its modernization for 21st-century living, the estate still radiates historic charm, transporting guests back to a time of colonial grandeur. A key highlight of Blake House is the Crown and Anchor Inn (circa 1735), originally located in South Baltimore and relocated to the estate in 1941.
The Space
The estate boasts countless amenities that cater to travelers of all ages and preferences, ensuring entertainment and relaxation throughout your stay. Blake House offers an open-plan living experience with expansive views of the Corsica River and its surrounding natural beauty. The property features four luxurious suite bedrooms, one of which is located on the first floor for easy access.
Outdoors, guests can enjoy a 100-foot pier with a 10,000lb boat lift, as well as recreational facilities including bocce ball courts, corn hole, and scenic nature trails. Additional features include a sauna house, multiple fire pits, and numerous dining areas. Meanwhile, the Crown and Anchor Inn provides a charming social space, complete with a bar, seating areas, a billiards table, a mini dance floor, and two bedrooms.

Please note that due to insurance and county guidelines a property specific rental agreement will have to be completed prior to your stay.
Whilst Blake House is a great place to host events (i.e., more than 12 guests on the property at any one time), please be aware that there is a $100 per person, per day, fee when guests exceed 12. Please contact us directly before booking to discuss the specifics of your event plans as additional fees may apply.
We do host Weddings at Blake House on a regular basis. Please contact us directly to discuss our wedding options.
Pet fees are $50 per pet, per night, with a cap of three pets at any one time. Please ensure pets are kept off furniture and beds. Pets are also not allowed to enter the pool as this seriously destabilizes the chemicals and damages the filter system. Violations of these rules will incur additional fees and/or penalties.
All direct bookings via this website incur a non-refundable credit card processing fee of 3%. There is a $500 security deposit due upon request.
